HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR NORTH FACING SHORES UNTIL 6 AM HST
SATURDAY MORNING
Surf along north facing shores will be 12 to 16 feet today dropping to 8 to 12 feet overnight. Surf will increase to 14 to 18 feet again Friday. SATURDAY MORNING
Surf along west facing shores will be 6 to 10 feet today, dropping to 4 to 7 feet Friday.
Surf along east facing shores will be 2 to 4 feet today, then drop to 1 to 3 feet Friday.
Surf along south facing shores will be 1 to 3 feet through Friday.
Outlook through Wednesday Jan 12: dropping northwest swell continues to produce surf around advisory levels along the north shore. The swell lower further overnight but increase again Friday as short period north swell fills in quickly around sunrise. Complex low pressure north of the state will provide a mix of mid period north swell over the next several days along with a longer period northwest swell due Friday night. This will provide marginally organized double overhead surf for the weekend with seemingly poor conditions and continued onshore northerly flow. Another larger northwest swell could produce surf in excess of 20 feet Tuesday into Wednesday. Windward shores will see only small amounts of trade swell, however the steeper northerly swell will impact many exposed areas with moderate to high surf over the next several days. South facing beaches will hover around normal winter flatness.
